Juergen Aldag with Siegfried & Roy

In 1995 & 1996, Juergen Aldag created the “Nobody Wears It Better” and the "Wilder Than Wildlife" collections of fine art in Hamburg, Germany. These paintings were a result of a photo session that Aldag had at the home of Siegfried and Roy in Las Vegas, where several of their animals live in a custom made “wildlife environment”, the Jungle Palace.

In 2001, Aldag collaborated with Roy Horn of the Siegfried & Roy show, "The Magicians of the Century", to create the Private Siegfried & Roy art collection using photographs that Roy had taken of their animals that co-star in the show and live in their home at the Jungle Palace and at the Secret Garden in the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

“Reflections” By Roy Uwe Ludwig Horn

A collection of art of any kind, I view as the milestones of our life; they reflect our tastes and changes, beliefs and dreams. Especially in my case, after over 30 years of preserving wildlife such as the Royal White Tigers, that gave Las Vegas a different identity, and the world a legacy, as well as the Magical White Lion.
In the artist, Juergen Aldag, I found the person who could transform the magic of my own personal photographs, not always the best, but sincere, into a statement of what Siegfried and I stand for; to depict our animals as endangered species living together as family and friends.
Art should be simple and handled in a pure sense. Even the abstract should represent a meaning, an interesting slice of life. Juergen Aldag, who shares our German heritage, has seen our show at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas 1,000 times. He has studied all of our animals in the Secret Garden and Jungle Palace and has painted them in such a way as to demonstrate a refreshing, “cutting edge” artistic approach. Using actual photographs taken by me and enhancing them all around, Juergen gives a new, exciting look to the image.
Even though over the years, Siegfried and I have proven to be somewhat colorful people, we have, as I have said in the past, “gone over the top to reach the bottom of your hearts.” I am fascinated with White, it reflects in all of our surroundings, it is pristine, crisp and innocent. White represents births, weddings and death. What would the great painters of our time, from Picasso to Michelangelo, have done without the color of white? Yet in reality, white is not a color.
All things I see reflect our Royal White Tigers and Magical White Lions, which are already extinct in the wild. That is why I, together with Juergen Aldag, created this selective, limited edition, Siegfried and Roy, special art collection.
Photographs are the wallpaper of our souls and lives; to incorporate these precious moments in time has much more meaning than art, that is just a painting to live out a fantasy, although each one has its place. -Roy Uwe Ludwig Horn
